Post Norwich Waterfront gig, April 22nd. 12:35am

The bad news is that i didn't manage to get an interview with Tiny (although i did give him some flowers beforehand)... the good news is that some people and i had a chat with him afterwards, and he revealed various interesting nuggets...
They're playing at Glastonbury and V99......They didn't have a merchandiser because they couldn't afford one.. but Tiny doesn't really like t-shirts done by companies so the ones on the next tour are going to be to the bands specification. Tiny actually prefers little things like badges and posters.. it would seem that Tiny is the novelty king, because he was telling us that every city he goes to he buys loads of them... he demonstrated his talking Darth Vader keyring to us, and his weird hit-against the wall keyring thing (of which he has several.) He gave us some rather secret information about Dawn Of The Replicants, and Supergrass, but i'm afraid that's classified.
He says that the lyrics on the sleeve are a bit wrong, and that the company that did the sleeve and the album (nude) were in breach of contract because they edited Aire and Calder (which is definitely the nex tsingle) without Ultrasound's permission. The bit about parts of the body in French (on the album) is Tiny talking through an intercom in a studio whilst doing voice checking, and reading a French dictionary... the shouty bit is Vanessa during a mid-recording row that they had, after which they didn't talk to each other for a while. The samples in My Impossible Dream are from adverts on late at night. The secret track Best Wishes was recorded at 6am in the morning after doing Everything Picture, and Tiny apologises for the vocals. We had a chat about his rising celebrity status, and about the trendies who lurk around the Waterfront (which is in the red light district of Norwich, such as it is) Apparently up north they're called charmers. Tiny's heard the new Suede album, and took great pleasure in saying that Electricity sounded like Lenny Kravitz... if anyone wants to send Tiny a letter use the address in the forum... he's got some, but hasn't got round to opening them yet.... the heyheyhey (Stay Young) is still moody balladeers Travis, but slowed down. As for the gig, Tiny liked the venue, but hadn't had a chance to look around Norwich (he didn't miss much) The gig was deeply loud and wonderful, but unfortunately i only managed to get two pictures, because i thought all the previous photos had been deleted from my camera's memory, whereas they hadn't... Richard had a fit of pique mid-Impossible Dream and threw down his guitar before storming offstage.. for anyone's information, he was wearing brown sta-prest... Tiny had his red top on and tartan combats... Vanessa was all in black... i couldn't really see Matt, but he kindly defaced one of the venues posters for me afterwards, which i may scan in, because it's quite amusing... they played Over There and Sentimental Song as part of the set... did this happen elsewhere? Sentimental Song was a bit shaky, and wasn't helped by not everyone singing along.. the Pixies were on the warmup tape, which was the best thing i've ever heard on a warm up tape at the Waterfront, it's usually generic RAWK arse... Dark Star were actually quite wonderful also, although degenerated into tradness during a couple of songs... anyway, i think that's all... best wishes...

Floodlit World

TINY showed everyone his (belly) as part of the Red Or Dead display at the London Fashion Week,on Sunday 21st February following in the pop-star model footsteps of Patrick Duff. And he made the front cover of Monday's Independent! (22nd February.) A picture should appear very soon. And apparently Matt and Andy streaked the catwalk as well... eeek! The rest of the band were apparently present, but no one noticed them as they kept their clothing on. Boring. The band also appear naked and painted sparkly blue in the video for the single (Floodlit World). So that's why they signed to nude records.

Here's how ultrasound did in those all-important end of year polls...
